The False Prophets From the “Center” Elite

It is a waste of time to jump up and down and scream about the ludicrous nature of the Republicans “ideas” about the economy, and, specifically, the proposal put forth by John Boehner regarding the phony debt and deficit “crisis”. These people are nuts and, worse, they either lie or are ignorant about the facts when it comes to the economy. So, it’s more important, in my humble opinion, to ponder the proposals floated out there by people who claim to be representing the “left” or “center” and, even more astonishing, “the last good economy”.

Obama Is Not The Issue. This Is About US

The anger against the president that has been rocketing around many circles of liberal/progressive politics is misplaced.     The crisis we face isn’t about what the president is doing, or failing to do.     We are under siege, fighting the greatest class warfare in perhaps 100 years. Iowans Think John Edwards Is Right On Trade

Forget what the pundits and some of the elements of the Democratic corporate establishment think: John Edwards is reflecting the sentiment of Iowans when he points out the dangerous effects of globalization.   Today’s Wall Street Journal tells us this: At a John Deere plant here, bright green tractors bound for Brazil, Russia and China […]

Live from Bangalore!

Welcome to the age of Remote Control Journalism—that’s what Pete Szekely, who is the chairman of the Reuters unit of the Newspaper Guild, calls the news we’re going to get from sources like Reuters. I ran into Pete yesterday. He reminded me of an important development that’s worth updating: Reuters is moving a number of […]
