Tom Friedman’s Planet

Some day, I’ve been meaning to go off on the world view of Thomas Friedman. His book “The World Is Flat” is the newest installment of his endless fascination with globalization–and his blindness to either the consequences or history and economics. I’ve gotten a big enough dose of his trips to Bangalore, India via his column in The New York Times so I’ve resisted plunking down my dough for his newest tome.

But, to the rescue comes my friend Jeff Faux with a terrific and concise book review in Dissent magazine of Friedman’s new book. Jeff gave me permission to reprint the review here. I recommend it–you can get the Friedman view of the world and the reaility…without giving Freidman anymore book royalties.
