In the wake of last night’s victory for Tea Party Republican Matt Bevin in the race for governor in Kentucky, this just came across my desk. Bi-Partisanship lives!

“The entire Republican Party wants to extend its heartfelt praise and admiration for the leadership of Debbie Wasserman Schultz in her role as chair of the Democratic National Committee.Last night’s election of Matt Bevin (only the second time since the 1970s that we have won the governorship in Kentucky) may have been a surprise to many. But, we remind the skeptics and the naysayers that, with Debbie doing such a fine job, the Republican Party flipped four governors’ seats in the last cycle–knocking off an incumbent in the president’s own state of Illinois and grabbing open seats in Arkansas, Massachusetts and, wowzah, big blue Maryland. We are at a high-water mark in the modern era! We’re hoping she can even shower a little good dust on David Vitter. Go, Debbie!

Since our esteemed colleague took over at the DNC in 2011, Republicans cannot have found a better friend and ally. Republicans now control the House of Representatives with 246 Republicans, the biggest GOP caucus since 1947, when Harry Truman was president. We thank Chairperson Wasserman Schultz for guaranteeing our majority at least until the next post census election in 2012–and we hope she continues to serve for many years leading up to and after the census because there are more governors we want to win in deep Blue States…and Debbie is always there for us.

And, by the way, at the state level, we now have 67 chambers under Republican control, five more than our previous record in the modern era, and 24 states are under full Republican control. Debbie, thank you for this bounty!

We are particularly grateful that Debbie will be at the helm in 2016 because our Senate majority might be at risk. But, we feel good that Debbie’s performance will help us keep Mitch McConnell as majority leader.

Given that we have done extensive polling showing that many Americans actually agree with Democrats on key issues especially the economy, we were worried that the 2016 presidential election would further expose Americans to Democratic Party values. Well, our colleague Wasserman Schultz fixed that, holding debates to a mere six. We are especially grateful since the first debate, on CNN, averaged 15.8 million total viewers, the the sixth-biggest nonsports cable telecast in history, with the 25-54 demographic averaging 5 million — the most ever for a Democratic debate. Thank you, Debbie.

We strongly reject any attempts to remove her from office because, to paraphrase former president George W. Bush’s praise of FEMA chieft Michael Brown in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina: “Debbie, you’re doing a heck of a job.”

Yeah, while the Democratic Party burns for the country, the DNC chair sits in her palace, seemingly clueless to her utter failure.
