Corporate Tax Cuts? C’mon

Let’s get this one out of the way–of course I, and others, should support Obama’s re-election for one reason and one reason only: the Bush tax cuts. My guess is, looking at today’s landscape, which could change, that the Democrats lose the Senate and the House stays with the lunatics. For one reason and one reason only–the Bush tax cuts–I want Obama there to veto any extension of those immoral tax cuts, or at least simply to let them expire. Otherwise, it’s clear–the raid on the Treasury will reach stunning levels.

That said, I must disagree with the reaction to the speech. There is not deficit or debt crisis. NONE. And the president has bought that complete fallacy. As has been pointed out in other places, if we did NOTHING and just let the tax cuts expire, most of the debt and deficit issues would be gone. BUT THERE IS NO CRISIS EITHER WAY.

I am glad he talked about raising taxes on the rich. But, the levels they are proposing are a joke–the Clinton era levels? C’mon, that still is robbery.

I cannot support a proposal that talks about cutting corporate tax rates. The president has bought the completely false "free market" rhetoric about corp taxes. But, give him credit, he just bought himself a pile of corporate cash for his re-election campaign with that promise. Bravo.

Zero about fighting immoral wars–because after all he is proud of his wars.

But, honestly, nothing really surprised me in the speech–this is who he is.

So, I sum up by saying: it’s clear to me who the evil is but "all in with enthusiasm". Nope.
