Today, it carries the news that the Gross Domestic Product rose at an annual rate of 5.6 percent in the first quarter. Strap yourself in for the pontificating about how wonderful the U.S. economy is. It ain’t true.

Oh, sure, a lot of stuff is being made. But, contrast that with the reality that 35,000 GM workers have now had to take a buyout because their jobs likely won’t be there in a year or so, or the 48 million American without healthcare or the growing gap between CEO pay and the average person’s pay.
