Friends: Welcome. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Working Life. Working Life started as a blog a couple of years ago at the time when labor had a pretty intense debate about its future. Stuff happened since then…but there is no less of a need for a vigorous debate.

So, wearing my executive director hat over here at Labor Research Association, I’ve revamped the concept of Working Life. I want us–all of us–to create a community about what’s happening out there in the world of work. The site is now in a “soft” launch–meaning, we’ve just completed some of the basics so that it could start working for so many of you. You can now start your own blog and not have to simply respond to my posts. You can post video of at our YouTube site. There is a lot more to come!!!

I hope you sign up–today. I’m hoping that we can generate a vibrant, passionate, smart debate about work, the economy and labor. I hope we can do that within the realm of reasonable language–stick to your guns, tell it like you see it but let’s try to do without venom.
