Apparently, Democrats are angry that the Pentagon presented a plan to the Administration that calls for troop withdrawals from Iraq–while, at the same time, Republicans were attacking Democrats for suggesting–pretty feebly–that troop withdrawals should begin. Well, boo-hoo, it’s your own fault, my friends.
Of course, the Republicans were planning a pre-2006 election phony withdrawal of troops (meaning, the Administration will announce a withdrawal just before the election and, then, rush the troops back in after the election). The problem has been that the “opposition” party is incapable of providing a clear voice because too many of its members supported the war and because the party has been so weak and frightened to stand up and say what the public now knows about this immoral war–it’s time to end it now.
