Meeks Is Not Forgotten

Rep. Gregory Meeks is one of the CAFTA 15 (yes, it is a hard thing for us New Yorkers to admit that 2 of the 15 come from our fair city–an unbelievable thought given that labor unions are still relatively large here). And, just as bad, Meeks is one of the so-called Democrats who voted for the bankruptcy bill–a piece of legislation that was a gift to the credit card companies and a horrible burden to average people trying to claw themselves out of a financial hole.

Well, there are people who remember what Meeks has done. At a recent fundraiser at a bowling alley in Washington, D.C., some folks put up the below flyers in the alley and bathrooms. The tape obscures the slogan, “How Could You Vote For The Bankruptcy Bill?”
