Tomorrow, my friends are going to be on the picket line at New York University. You may remember that, actually, NYU graduate students lead the way in winning bargaining rights for all graduate students–except, then, the Bush Administration’s National Labor Relations board overturned the precedent that gave grad students those basic democratic rights.
So, NYU, one of the richest private universities around, is now refusing to recognize the union–after four years of collective bargaining. So, the grad students are walking out. If you’re in New York tomorrow, join me and others on the picket line in front of Bobst Library, Washington Square South & LaGuardia Place, 8 am-5:15 pm. There will be a rally at Noon.
